The Former fourth President of the United Republic of Tanzania, His Excellency Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, accompanied by the Deputy Minister in the Office of the President TAMISEMI, Hon Dr. Festo Dugange, and the Canadian Minister for International Development, Hon Randeep Sarai, have made a visit to the Makuburi health center in Dar es Salaam on July 20, 2025 to assess the progress of the Registration Program for Children under the Age of Five.

This program is a part of the Canadian grant through the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), where the children of that age are registered and issued with birth certificates free of charge at maternal health facilities and ward executive offices. The implementation is already ongoing in all regions of Tanzania mainland.
